Page 4 <br /> included that a new position would need to be advertised. <br /> Mr. Ferriday asked who was responsible for reviewing positions? <br /> Ms. Farren stated that the Personnel Board has done it in the past. <br /> Mr. Ferriday mentioned then if nobody could do this on the <br /> Personnel Board currently then that may be the reason that the <br /> Board of Selectmen are pushing for the Director. Ms. Greelish <br /> mentioned that two years back, Rita Souza and Jane Stockbridge had <br /> done a thorough review of all positions under the PAP. Mr. <br /> Ferriday then commented that if the job description has not changed <br /> since that review then the grade should not change. It should be <br /> the review of job descriptions not people, according to Mr. <br /> Ferriday. Ms. Farren stated that a consultant should definitely be <br /> hired to review all of the reclassification requests. <br /> Mr. Goggin asked Ms. LaBute to tell the Finance Committee what she <br /> would like to achieve from Town Meeting. She stated that whatever <br /> the Finance Committee decided she would like to have it in writing. <br /> She also indicated that she has a serious dilemma because her part <br /> timer was on sick leave and her other employee is going to school. <br /> All that remains to run her office is herself. Mr. Goggin <br /> mentioned that the Finance Committee felt that she should rescind <br /> her Article in order that her 18 hour, non standard clerk be <br /> changed to a 20 hour standard clerk. The recommendation of the <br /> Finance Committee is attached. <br /> Ms. Greelish mentioned that the Selectmen had been discussing the <br /> sticker office opening on May 15th. Ms. LaBute responded that she <br /> does not have her sticker office employees until June 1, 1994. Ms. <br /> LaBute then mentioned her transfer requests from October. The <br /> Committee voted as noted in the above portion of the Minutes. <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> Chief Baker and Deputy Chief Hamblin were present at the meeting on <br /> behalf of the Fire Department. The Committee asked about the <br /> $17,000 vehicle requested in the capital line item? Mr. Baker <br /> indicated that the Selectmen approved this two door vehicle. Mr. <br /> Goggin asked who would utilize that vehicle? Mr. Baker answered <br /> that the Deputy Fire Chief would use it. Chief Baker stated that <br /> he believed that he and the Deputy Chief should have vehicles at <br /> home to respond in emergencies. The Chief is hoping to move the <br /> vehicle that Mr. Hamblin is currently using to the level of <br /> inspections. Deputy Chief Hamblin indicated that the Department <br /> requested $28,000 to put two additional people through paramedic <br /> school . Chief Baker stated that initially the Department was <br /> requesting four new fire fighters. It was felt that the Department <br /> would save money for overtime if there was a hiring of new firemen. <br /> Chief Baker indicated that supplies had been level funded. Mr. <br /> Dunivan, liaison, stated that he recommended that medical supplies <br /> and jaws of life come out of ambulance receipts, approximately <br />
