Dr. DeMoura responded that it <br /> 1 ,180 students for 183 ,000 square feet. <br /> Mr. Goggin asked about private schools? Dr. DeMoura did not think <br /> that the impact was anything to concern themselves with. He was <br /> unaware of any Mashpee children attending parochial schools. <br /> Mr. Goggin concluded by stating that he believed these joint <br /> meetings to be very informative and beneficial . He asked if the <br /> School Committee and Dr. DeMoura would be willing to meet with them <br /> again? The two groups agreed to meet again on Tuesday, November <br /> 15, 1994 at 7:OOPM at the Town Hall. The joint meeting adjourned <br /> at 8:OOPM. <br /> Robert Whritenour, Executive Secretary, was also present at the <br /> meeting to discuss the Warrant. <br /> Mr. Whritenour provided the Committee a summary of the Articles on <br /> the Warrant requiring money. <br /> Article 1 (data processing purchase) . Mr. Goggin informed the <br /> Executive Secretary that the Finance Committee was recommending <br /> indefinitely postponing this Article. Mr. Whritenour stated that <br /> he would like to purchase some personal computers now. He <br /> explained that after all of the hard work that has been done by the <br /> Computer Committee, he felt it would be a shame to make them wait <br /> until May. He felt that the Computer Committee would have <br /> something ready at this Town meeting. Ms. Greelish explained that <br /> over the next three days, the Computer Committee would come up with <br /> a reasonable budget and hardware would go out to bid again. Mr. <br /> Goggin mentioned that it was his belief that if a certain sum of <br /> money was set aside at Town meeting, then it could be lost control <br /> of. Mr. Goggin did not feel that the Computer Committee was ready. <br /> Mr. Goggin was looking for a written comprehensive plan. Mr. <br /> Whritenour indicated that they know the needs of the departments <br /> and know the direction in which they want to go. He explained that <br /> the decision has been made over and over again that the current <br /> system has to go. Mr. Goggin agreed. He stated that yes the Town <br /> needs to modernize and the current system needs to go, but the <br /> system is not broken down and it did not need to be rushed through <br /> this Town meeting. Mr. Goggin suggested that at the Computer <br /> Committee meeting tomorrow, they come up with a plan and how things <br /> will be phased in and the price of phasing it in. Mr. Whritenour <br /> explained that they would develop an action plan. <br /> Article 2 (unpaid bills) was okay. Article 3 (school lunch <br /> revolving) was okay. Article 4 (wastewater facility planning) was <br /> okay. Article 5 and Article 6 (assessors revaluation and <br /> unreserved unprovided for abatements) would come out of the Overlay <br /> Account.
