6
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
March 8, 1999
Budget et Review:
Building Inspector:
William Hauck, Inspector of Buildings requested the Board employ the
services of a full-time Senior Clerk to assist with the increased workload
of the department.
It was noted that the position was funded for one year independently by
Southport. The Senior Clerk made a unilateral transfer to the Office of the
Town Clerk. Presently, there is funding available(March—June) for the
referenced position that will expire; 6/30/99.
It is the consensus of the Selectmen to review the fee structure of the
Building Department in an attempt to offset labor costs.
Council on_Ain
The Council on Aging Director,Jim Long requested consideration for
additional clerical support to provide adequate services to senior citizens.
This is the third year he has requested assistance for his department. Mr.
Long indicated that he would be receptive of part-time support to alleviate
the additional cost of medical insurance benefits associated with the
position request.
Leisure Services:
Leisure Services budget requests include increased lifeguard support in
addition to contractual obligations.
Animal Control:
The Animal Control Office has requested that an assistant position be
added to the department as caseloads continue to rise with Mashpee's°
growing population.
