6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 8, 1999 <br /> Budget et Review: <br /> Building Inspector: <br /> William Hauck, Inspector of Buildings requested the Board employ the <br /> services of a full-time Senior Clerk to assist with the increased workload <br /> of the department. <br /> It was noted that the position was funded for one year independently by <br /> Southport. The Senior Clerk made a unilateral transfer to the Office of the <br /> Town Clerk. Presently,there is funding available(March—June) for the <br /> referenced position that will expire; 6/30/99. <br /> It is the consensus of the Selectmen to review the fee structure of the <br /> Building Department in an attempt to offset labor costs. <br /> Council on_Ain� <br /> The Council on Aging Director,Jim Long requested consideration for <br /> additional clerical support to provide adequate services to senior citizens. <br /> This is the third year he has requested assistance for his department. Mr. <br /> Long indicated that he would be receptive of part-time support to alleviate <br /> the additional cost of medical insurance benefits associated with the <br /> position request. <br /> Leisure Services: <br /> Leisure Services budget requests include increased lifeguard support in <br /> addition to contractual obligations. <br /> Animal Control: <br /> The Animal Control Office has requested that an assistant position be <br /> added to the department as caseloads continue to rise with Mashpee's° <br /> growing population. <br />
