g <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 17, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND BEARINGS: <br /> Skateboard Park Discussion: (continued) <br /> The site of the former Police Department Firing Range was deemed <br /> acceptable. The Chief of Police is supportive of the location. There is <br /> access for emergency vehicles. The site is in close proximity to area <br /> elementary schools, and has easy access to Mashpee Commons and the <br /> Boys and Girls Club. It is also located away from the residential area. <br /> The area is owned by the Town and needs to be cleared for the <br /> construction of a skateboard park informed Mr. Fredericks. Selectman <br /> Leveille recommended that the site be examined for potential lead <br /> contamination. <br /> Being no further comment,the Board motioned to close the hearing. <br /> j Motion made by Selectman Leveille to close the Public Hearing. <br /> I Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to authorize the use of the former <br /> Mashpee Police Department Old Firing Range or a parcel of Town <br /> owned land abutting the area for the Skateboard Park pending an <br /> investigation of lead contamination by the Mashpee Board of Health. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 40. <br />
