11 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 17, 1999 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Recommendation from the Historical Commissi n—Name of Nathan Ellis <br /> Highway Extension Road: <br /> The Historical Commission in conjunction with the Town Planner has <br /> agreed to request the Selectmen name the Nathan Ellis Highway extension <br /> road to Frank Hicks Drive. <br /> The road leads to the Mashpee Police,Fire, and Boys and Girls Club <br /> buildings. Mr. Hicks served Mashpee as Police Chief,Fire Chief, <br /> Selectmen and Executive Secretary as well as many other Town positions. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to name the road commonly <br /> known as the Nathan Ellis Highway extension road to Frank Hicks <br /> Drive as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Acceptance of Affordable Housing Proposal: <br /> The Board received an affordable housing proposal from Habitat for <br /> Humanity of Cape Cod,Inc. to build an affordable house or houses on <br /> land now owned by the Town of Mashpee on Ashers Path, Mashpee <br /> Assessor's May 61, Block 66. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to accept the Affordable Housing. <br /> Proposal as received from Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod,Inc. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to accept(2)sites as a Local <br /> Initiative Program under the provisions of MGL,Chapter 40B subject <br /> to the approval of the ZBA of the site plan. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
