3 Board of Selectmen Minutes September 13, 1999 APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: Mash Dee 2000 Committee—Park Update: (continued) Phase 1 A of the project is proposed to construct the memorial garden. Three existing veteran's memorial markers are suggested to be relocated to the site envisioned as a circular lawn area with a center flagpole and crushed stone walkways. In Phase 1 B, grading and lawn improvements are proposed for the Performance Area. A rest area with a kiosk is also suggested. Phase 2 of the project scope completes the construction of the Performance Area. A bandstand roof, crushed stone paths, a garden pond and plantings are proposed. Native plantings and bark-mulched paths are included in the development of a Wampanoag Native Plant Arboretum. Preliminary cost estimates were presented to the Selectmen for consideration. It was noted that the committee is seeking methods to mitigate the costs for the Millennium Park. Motion made by Selectman Leveille to grant conceptual approval to the proposed Millennium Parr,Phase i A and 1 B, and move forward to place an article on the Special Town Meeting warrant to raise and appropriate funding for said purpose. New SeabM Cape,Cod—SigLi Request for Approval: Correspondence was received from Kathleen Grim,Director of Resort Operations; New Seabury Cape Cod dated September 7, 1999 requesting approval to place two 4'x4' signs at the Mashpee Rotary to promote the American Junior Golf Association Ryder Cup Tournament. The tournament is a three-day event, Monday, September 20, 1999 through Wednesday, September 22, 1999,being held at the New Seabury Country Club. The public is invited to attend the event.
