3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 13, 1999 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Mash Dee 2000 Committee—Park Update: (continued) <br /> Phase 1 A of the project is proposed to construct the memorial garden. <br /> Three existing veteran's memorial markers are suggested to be relocated <br /> to the site envisioned as a circular lawn area with a center flagpole and <br /> crushed stone walkways. <br /> In Phase 1 B, grading and lawn improvements are proposed for the <br /> Performance Area. A rest area with a kiosk is also suggested. <br /> Phase 2 of the project scope completes the construction of the <br /> Performance Area. A bandstand roof, crushed stone paths, a garden pond <br /> and plantings are proposed. Native plantings and bark-mulched paths are <br /> included in the development of a Wampanoag Native Plant Arboretum. <br /> Preliminary cost estimates were presented to the Selectmen for <br /> consideration. It was noted that the committee is seeking methods to <br /> mitigate the costs for the Millennium Park. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to grant conceptual approval to <br /> the proposed Millennium Parr,Phase i A and 1 B, and move forward <br /> to place an article on the Special Town Meeting warrant to raise and <br /> appropriate funding for said purpose. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> yoTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS. <br /> New SeabM Cape,Cod—SigLi Request for Approval: <br /> Correspondence was received from Kathleen Grim,Director of Resort <br /> Operations; New Seabury Cape Cod dated September 7, 1999 requesting <br /> approval to place two 4'x4' signs at the Mashpee Rotary to promote the <br /> American Junior Golf Association Ryder Cup Tournament. <br /> The tournament is a three-day event, Monday, September 20, 1999 <br /> through Wednesday, September 22, 1999,being held at the New Seabury <br /> Country Club. The public is invited to attend the event. <br />
