2
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
November 1, 1999
OLD BUSINESS:
Correspondence from Don Megathlin regarding letter of support
for Cape Cod Commission.
Don Megathlin, dice President of C. Talanian Realty Co. Inc.
submitted correspondence to the Board dated October 15, 1999
requesting the Town support the consolidation of various curb cuts on
Route 28 to improve traffic circulation.
Mr. Whritenour, Town Administrator presented a draft memorandum
to the Cape Cod Commission in response to Mr. Megathlin's request to
the Selectmen for consideration. Discussion ensued.
It is the consensus of the Board to remit communication to the Cape Cod
Commission as recommended. The Town of Mashpee favors the
consolidation of curb cuts on Route 28,however,the request for the Town
to make a binding commitment is premature since Town Meeting has not
voted on whether the land will be retained or disposed of, and no analysis
of zoning and site plan issues have been undertaken.
The Selectmen agreed to consider eliminating the Route 28 curb cut and
relocating it to the connector road at the appropriate time, and with the
analysis of all of the issues.
NEW BUSINESS:
Selection of Architect for LibM Feasibili Study:
Correspondence was received from Helene DeFoe; Library Director dated
October 26, 1999 recommending the Board approve the rank order of
three selected firms interviewed for the Library Feasibility Study for the
library expansion proposal.
