I <br /> 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 15, 1999 <br /> Public Hearin —Tax Classification: (continued) <br /> In joint convention, the Mashpee Water District Commissioner voted <br /> unanimously to move the recommendation of the Board of Selectmen <br /> relative to the manner in which the Town is taxed. <br /> Roll Call Vote of Mashpee Water District Commissioners—Unanimous. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Letter of Interest to Serve on the Upper Cape Water Supply Advisory <br /> Council: <br /> The Board received a letter of interest from Russell Babcock to serve as <br /> Mashpee's representative to the Upper Cape Water Supply Advisory <br /> Council. <br /> It was noted that the Governor has proposed an Act to take control of the <br /> northern 15,000 acres of the NEAR. The Act is expected to be voted on <br /> favorably by the legislature in the future. <br /> I <br /> Being premature, the Selectmen agreed to place the letter of interest under <br /> advisement at this time. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Director of Public Works: <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public Works discussed the following issues with <br /> the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Seasonal Salt Bid for Acceptance- <br /> Mr. <br /> Taylor recommended the Board award the seasonal salt bid to Eastern <br /> Minerals, the low bidder for snow and ice. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the recommendation <br /> of the DPW Director and award the Seasonal Salt bid to Eastern <br /> Minerals for the price of$30.60 per ton. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor absent. <br />
