5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 15, 1999. <br /> Street Sweeping Bid for Acceptance_ <br /> Mr. Taylor recommended the street sweeping bid be awarded to <br /> William E. O'Brien,Inc. the low bidder. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to award the FY2000 <br /> Street Sweeping bid to William E. O'Brien,Inc. at the rate of S93.45 <br /> per hour as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor absent. <br /> Street sweeping in private homeowners associations will be considered <br /> next fiscal year. The issue will be reviewed by the DPW Director. <br /> Snow and Ice Removal Payment Schedule: <br /> The DPW Director requested a change in the payment schedule for truck, <br /> fuel and a driver for emergency snow operations. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the recommendation <br /> of the DPW Director to approve the Snow and Ice Payment Schedule. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor absent. <br /> Snow Removal Policy for Approval: <br /> Mr. Taylor presented a revised Snow Removal Policy to the Selectmen for <br /> approval. Items #6, #7, and 98 were incorporated into the policy relative <br /> to the road treatment of sand and salt, the assistance to the School <br /> Department in removing snow and the plowing of the Mashpee Housing <br /> Authority after all streets have been cleared. <br /> Item#1 has proposed that the town not plow condominium complexes, <br /> including Deer Crossing. It was noted that the previous Board of <br /> Selectmen voted to make an exception for Deer Crossing because of a <br /> student who rode the bus to school. Mr. Taylor indicated that the school <br /> buses do not operate when there is a considerable amount of snow, which <br /> is a storm in progress of over 3". <br />
