6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 15, 1999 <br /> Snow Removal Policy for Approval: (continued) <br /> Representatives from the Sea Oaks Association and Summerwood <br /> Condominium Trust were present to request the Selectmen's consideration <br /> to provide snow removal services. It was noted that Deer Crossing is not <br /> the only condominium complex with children who ride the school buses. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to adopt the Snow Removal <br /> Policy as outlined in the Director of Public Works recommended <br /> policy effective November 15, 1999,and submit communication to the <br /> Mashpec Housing Authority re-emphasizing that it is necessary for <br /> them to make arrangements within their own budget to address their <br /> snow plow needs. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor absent. <br /> Mr. Taylor was directed to review costs to incorporate all condominium <br /> complexes within.the town into the Snow and Ice budget for next fiscal <br /> year. An inventory will be conducted-mapping road layouts and mileage <br /> for additional review and consideration. <br /> Emergency Generator: <br /> Mr. Taylor requested the Board support the DPW's application to the <br /> Finance Committee in request for use of emergency reserve funds for the <br /> purchase of an emergency generator. <br /> Presently, the DPW uses a thirty-year old diesel generator. It has failed on <br /> several occasions during storm events. There is an urgent need to fully <br /> power the entire office and garage. The installation of a liquid propane <br /> generator to fully power the building is estimated to cost $28,224. <br /> Selectman Taylor present: 7:50 p.m. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to support the DPW's application <br /> to the Finance Committee in request of an emergency reserve fund <br /> transfer for the purchase of a generator as outlined. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
