Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 3 <br /> February 24, 1998 <br /> I!glice Department: <br /> Chief Przybylek indicated that the educational incentive figure of <br /> $84,993 reflects 100%of the educational incentive under the Quinn Bill. <br /> It was noted that 5011/6 is reimbursed by the State. *Further review. <br /> Additional funding has been placed in the Expense Account to maintain <br /> the infrastructure of the Police Department informed Chief Przybylek. <br /> Included in the figure is maintenance for heating and air conditioning, and <br /> exterior groundskeeping. <br /> The Dispatcher's SalaryAVage Account is level funded and reflects obligations <br /> relative to contractual requirements. <br /> Council on Aging• <br /> Jim Long, Council on Aging Director was present to recommend the Board <br /> support the position of Van Driver to full-time to maintain consistency and <br /> accountability. <br /> The program has been successful. In June,there will be two vacancies related <br /> to the present(2) part-time positions. It is an appropriate time to combine the <br /> two positions recommended Mr. Long. The 40 hour per week position, full-time <br /> is projected to cost$22,518 with benefits. <br /> Capital 1m�n off.,vement Plan: <br /> David Bailey, Chairman of the Capital Improvement Committee discussed <br /> the fiscal year 1999 Capital Improvement Plan with members of the Board of <br /> Selectmen. (enclosed) <br /> Mr. Bailey indicated that all capital requests were carefully considered. The <br /> capital budget represents approximately 3%of the Town's overall spending <br /> for FY99, and offers incremental improvement over maintaining existing services. <br /> The multi-year plan provides for approximately$800,000 per year to maintain <br /> serviceable equipment and vehicles while adding one or two new projects each <br /> year in a planned and sustainable manner informed Mr. Bailey. <br />
