Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 5 <br /> May 4, 1998 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> A5soci&fion fort e Preservation of Cape Cod-Aquarian Award: <br /> Selectman Frye indicated that he attended a ceremony last weekend <br /> whereby Mashpee was awarded the Aquarian Award by the Cape Cod <br /> Groundwater Guardian Team for its watershed management efforts. <br /> i <br /> The Board of Selectmen and Watershed Management Committee were <br /> commended for their efforts. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENJ7 <br /> On behalf of the Finance Committee, Chairman Watt welcomed the two <br /> new members of the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Watt expressed his committee's <br /> commitment to continue to work closely with the Selectmen to address the <br /> financial matters of the Town. <br /> In other business,Mr. Watt urged the Board to take action with respect to <br /> the New Seabury Reorganization Plan as it relates to potential valuable land <br /> acquisitions and tax revenue for the Town of Mashpee. <br /> i <br /> i <br /> The Finance Committee has offered to review the plan with the Selectmen <br /> in due haste. *Agenda topic,next meeting. <br /> It was noted that Town Counsel is presently reviewing this matter on behalf <br /> of the Board of Selectmen. Proposals and disclosure agreements will be <br /> reviewed by the Board. Anne Shaw, Treasurer/Tax Collector will be invited <br /> to attend discussions with the Selectmen and Finance Committee. <br /> i <br /> School Committee Chairman Kathleen Lynch invited the Chairman of the <br /> Board of Selectmen to attend collective bargaining negotiations as in the past. <br /> In other matters, Mrs. Lynch urged the Board to request the State expedite <br /> the signalization on Route 151 and Old Barnstable Road. The intersection which <br /> is located in the area of the new high school is dangerous. It was noted that the <br /> School Department did not allocate funds for a school crossing guard. <br /> Mr. Whritenour was directed to respond to the above matter on behalf of the <br /> Board of Selectmen. The School Committee will also address this concern. <br />
