Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 4 <br /> November 2, 1998 <br /> OLID B115INESSO <br /> Per spQa1 for Police Cadet Program (continued) <br /> Completion of the training program for full-time Cadets will require <br /> completion of a minimum of two years of service in the program and <br /> successful completion of the Basic Police Academy informed Chief Przybylek. <br /> Senior Cadets will require completion of a minimum of four years of part-time <br /> service and successful completion of the Basic Police Academy Training Course. <br /> The Police Department will employ up to seven persons in positions known <br /> as either Police Cadet or Senior Police Cadet. Residents 18-23 years of age <br /> are eligible for(4)full-time Police Cadet positions, and residents over the age <br /> of 23 are eligible for(3)part-time Senior Police Cadet positions. <br /> Police Cadets work 40 hours weekly in the on-the-job training program. <br /> Senior Police Cadets work 20 hours weekly. The rate of pay is $6.50 per hour. <br /> Cadets who serve at least one year full-time or two years part-time are eligible <br /> for consideration to be assigned to the Basic Police Training Academy Program. <br /> The Town expects to nominate (2)Cadets each fiscal year. All of the expenses <br /> including$1,800 tuition, shall be borne by the Town. After completion of the <br /> full-time academy, Cadets will be reassigned to the Cadet Program. <br /> The matter will be further discussed on the agenda. <br /> Public Hearing=Mark Gildea for Sign on_Tomm Propp y (continued) <br /> Mr. Mark Gildea was present to request the Board grant permission to allow <br /> a 4x5' sign to be erected in a portion of the layout of Great Neck Road South <br /> abutting the office of Clark,Balboni & Gildea, 33 Great Neck Road South. <br /> Mr. Gildea presented a copy of the building permit issued by the Town, a plot <br /> plan of the property detailing the requested location of the sign and a copy of <br /> a drawing of the proposed sign. It was noted that Design Review approved <br /> the sign placement proposal. <br />
