BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, MAY 21 , 1990 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> #1 (Cont. ) <br /> Mr. Gottlieb moved that the Board of Selectmen support <br /> efforts to restore the State' s share of the of funding to <br /> the Cape Cod Mosquito Control Project but that it not come <br /> off the the cherry sheet. Mrs. Jacobson seconded' the <br /> motion and Mr . Carter was in favor. Mr . Hanson was <br /> opposed. <br /> 2 . COUNCIL ON AGING - Mrs . Jacobson advised the Board on the <br /> subject of the proposed site for Shuffleboard Courts for <br /> the Senior Center. She stated that either the owner of <br /> the abutting property is encroaching on the Town's property <br /> or the Town may be encroaching on the builder' s property <br /> (Mr. Umina) . Mr. Virgilio advised that Mr. Umina is <br /> building a home on the property. Further, Mr. Virgilio <br /> stated that the plan would be moved back a - few feet. Mr. <br /> Umina was in agreement with this proposal . <br /> 3 . SOUTH CAPE BEACH ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND DEM - The Board met <br /> with representatives of the South Cape Beach Advisory <br /> Committee and DEM to discuss the progress between the Town <br /> and DEM concerning Great Oak Road and the State/Town Beach <br /> issue. <br /> DEM agreed to the Town's plan for $620,000 for the <br /> renovation of Great Oak Road ( including $4.0, 000 for the <br /> Kennedy property) . The funds will be exclusively for the <br /> road repairs and will . be disbursed by the Town, subject to <br /> certain restrictions contained within the agreement, <br /> Mr. Kirsner suggested that .Counsel for DEM put in writing, <br /> specifically what the agreement is so that Town Counsel and <br /> Mr. Kirsner may review. <br /> Mr. Gottlieb moved to accept the proposal of $620,000 for <br /> Great Oak Road to put the road back to its layout and <br /> authorize Town Counsel to .work with Representative Cahir, <br /> Mr. Kirsner and DEM to draft a proposal relative to th i s. <br /> Mrs. Jacobson seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br />
