i <br /> I <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN . <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, MAY 29, 1990 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> APPOINTMENTS 8 HEARINGS <br /> ##1 .(Cont. ) <br /> Mrs. Jacobson moved that Ernie Virgilio and Kevin <br /> Harrington be appointed to the Police Station Building <br /> Committee. Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in <br /> favor . <br /> Mrs. Jacobson moved to approve contracts for 1 ) Relocation <br /> of Radio Tower - $8, 400 and Concrete Testing $3 ,000. Mr., <br /> Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> The Police Station Building Committee is scheduled to meet <br /> on May 31 , 1990 to discuss recommendations relative to <br /> Change Order ##1 . <br /> 2 . BEN LOECHIE - JULY 1 ASSESSMENT DATE ARTICLE - Ben Lofchie <br /> and Pam Davis attended to discuss with the Board the issue <br /> of the July 1 assessment date that was voted by Annual Town <br /> Meeting. <br /> The Board was .advised that the Assessor' s Office would need <br /> one or two additional people working in the field as well <br /> as additional terminal access in order to complete this <br /> task. <br /> Ms. Davis asked whether the vote could be rescinded by <br /> special legislation. The Board authorized Ms. Davis to <br /> contact Representative Cahir to investigate whether this is <br /> possible and report back to the Board with her findings. <br /> Mr. Harrington was 'dir~ected to contact the Department of <br /> Revenue to determine whether the vote could be reversed at <br /> a Special Town Meeting in September. <br /> Mr . Carter stated that a policy should be established <br /> stating that any article that affects a particular <br /> department should go to that department for review prior to <br /> approval of the warrant . <br />
