BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 5 <br /> MINUTES <br /> AUGUST 6, 1990 <br /> Jane Labute re: House Numberin : <br /> Chairman Carter apologizes to Ms. Labute for the Selectman' s <br /> actions. <br /> Ms. Labute would like the approval of the board to approve <br /> the form and fine for houses that cannot be seen from the street <br /> and houses that do not show their given numbers: Numbers must be visible <br /> There is a compiled list of names to be submitted to the <br /> police and fire departments and a form to show violation. The <br /> fine is $50. 00, <br /> Town Council will ammend the letter for Ms. Labute on Thursday. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the fine <br /> of $50.00. Selectman- Jacobson seconded the motion. The vote of <br /> the Selectmen is 3-0 with Selectman Hanson absent and Selectmen <br /> Lawrence not voting. <br /> Conditions of Po_ppbnesset Bay: - Communications from the Director: <br /> Mr. Lew Schwartz gave the report that the committee has <br /> remained- an advisory group and no meetings are being held. <br /> 1. Selectman. Gottlieb would like to contact the 8 members of <br /> the committee to see Who is stir. interested. <br /> Selectman Lawrence states the town, state and private have <br /> spent a large amount of money to maintain this program with the <br /> mistake ofA maintaining a program to keep this project going. <br /> NOT <br /> The attraction of people to Mashpee is the waterways states <br /> Lawrence. He would like the Board of Selectmen to sponsor an <br /> article for all of the funds from the hotel and motel tax to go <br /> towards recreational usage. He questions the appropriation of <br /> the - money. ' Of the $149,800 in hotel and motel taxes for FY .90, <br /> 50% goes into the general treasury and 50% into general appropriation_. <br /> The committee should be built into a formal nature, ie. a <br /> Harbor- Master for the committee to repond to <br /> Selectman- Jacobson would like to change the structure of the <br /> committee for the fall town meeting. She will work with Mr. Schwartz <br /> to prepare an article for town meeting. The deadline is August 13th. <br /> Kevin Harrington will state the monetary facts at the next <br /> scheduled meeting, <br /> Chris Burden: New Seabury Future Sewera e Treatment Plant: <br /> Chairman Carter has recieved a' letter from Mr. Burden requesting <br /> aFmeeting with the board and sewerage commission to discuss the <br /> approval of a sewerage treatment plant in Popponessett. <br /> The meeting will be scheduled for Tuesday, the of <br />
