He feels the department is capable with <br /> out an assistant to carry on their duties. <br /> Selectman Jacobson feels the town financial problems are <br /> due to excess development. She has made the motion to accept <br /> the recommendation of Mr. Fudala, and the Personnel Board.. Town. <br /> Meeting did vote on this matter for approval. <br /> Selectman Jacobson :would. like to arnmend her motion-.;:to`. include <br /> a contract' for._Ms:; -.Bray' s =employment to commence '-in September <br /> and terminate on June 30, 1991. Selectman Hanson seconded the <br /> motion,. The Selectmen vote in favor of the motion. 3-1 with <br /> Selectman Lawrence opposing. <br /> Approval- of Step Increase for Patrolmen Clancy, Sexton and DeMello: <br /> Chief Frye made the recommendation for the above patrolmen <br /> to increase their salaries to $479. 4 per week effective on Sept- <br /> ember 2nd, 1990. They have satisfactorily completed -their fourth <br /> year tour of duty. . <br /> Selectman Hanson made the motion to approve the step increase <br /> of patrolmen Matthew Clancy, Michael Sexton and Randy DeMello. <br /> Selectman Jacobson seconded the motion. The vote of the Selectmen <br /> is unanimous. <br /> Communication relative to Ocotberfest 190: <br /> Chairman Michael Forde of the Okto:berfest ' 90 Committee requests <br /> the approval for signs publicizing this event. He would like <br /> permission for Mr. Virgilio to place their 6x3' sign in the middle <br /> of the. rotary from September 27 to October 6th and to- place another <br /> sign at the Middle School and the entrance of Great Neck Road. <br /> Mr. Virgilio. would be responsible for the sign at the rotary. <br /> Selectman Hanson made the motion to approve this request for <br /> advertisement of this event. Mr. Virgilio has agreed to install <br /> the sign at the rotary. Selectman Jacobson seconded the motion. <br /> The vote is unanimous. <br /> DPW Memo re: . Street Swee in <br /> Mr. Virgilio is requesting that Eastern States Equipment be <br /> awarded the contract for street sweeping. They are the low bidder <br /> for the project at $480. 00 per day. <br /> A mistake was made awarding R.J. Roy the bid at $520. 00 per day <br /> but no purchase orders have been issued and work has not been started. <br /> Selectman Lawrence made the motion. to approve Mr. Virgilio ' s <br /> memo as read. Selectman Hanson seconded the motion. The vote is <br /> unanimous. <br />
