Article 35 : To see if the Town will vote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen to purchase or take by eminent domain on behalf of the Town of Mashpee for water supply purposes an easement in, upon, over and under private streets within the Briarwood/Otis Trailer Park Area- Phase I, all particularly shown on a plan entitled "Plan Showing Takings for Utility Easements, Mashpee, MA" a copy of which plan is on file in the office of the Town Clerk and to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds a sum of money to carry out the foregoing. Motion to amend to read: I move the Town vote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen to secure necessary engineering and I gal work for the purpose of preparation of a plan suitable for recording at the Registry of Deeds for the purchase or taking by eminent domain on behalf of the Town for water supply purposes of an easement in, upon, over and under private streets within the Bri wood/Otis Trailer Park Area-Phase I. said streets being more particularly shown on a - sketch plan entitled "Plan Showing Takings for Utility Easements, Mashpee, MA." a copy of which is on file in the office of the Town Clerk, and further, to raise and appropriate the sum of $20,000.00 for said purpose.,__ _ In order to construct the water distribution system, the Town would need easements to have the water lines on privately-owned roadways . The amount of expense was unknown at the time of this writing.
