Article 36 : To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to enter into a contract to purchase water from the Town of Falmouth upon the following terms and conditions: a. The water will be supplied to the Town of Mashpee at the Town Line; b. The Town of Mashpee will build a water distribution system within the Town of Mashpee to supply water to the Briarwood area and the Otis Trailer village area. The water distribution system will be built to speci- fications approved by the Falmouth Department of Public Works and the distribution system will not be extended without the approval of the Falmouth Department of Falmouth Public Works, or the Falmouth Town Meeting if required. C. The Town of Mashpee will install water meters in all residences using the Falmouth water. The Falmouth Department of Public Works will bill all Mashpee customers at the regular rates plus a 25% admini- stration charge. d. The agreement shall remain in force for a term not to exceed twenty (20) years. e. The Town of Mashpee agrees to comply with all policies and practices including restrictions on use as set by the Falmouth Department of Public Works from time to time. f. The Falmouth Department of Public Works will maintain this water distribution system and the Town of Mashpee will pay the material cost of the maintenance and re- pair. g. The Town of Mashpee will guarantee payment of water bills incurred by customers in Mashpee. h. The Board of Selectmen may require such further agree- ments as they deem reasonable; and further , to authorize and empower the said Board of Selectmen to assign the aforesaid contract to any municipal water district that may hearafter be established. r Motion to accept as printed. . . . .motion carries. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .8:14 P.M.
