He gained positive feedback from the Select
Board. Ms. Wyman-Colombo is particularly happy with the updates, as they include a careful
balance between Mashpee's local concerns for water and its need for affordable housing. The
first working group met on 5/28 involving Mary Waygan, David Weeden, Michalea Wyman-
Colombo, the Consultant, Town Planner Tobin, and Mike Sparkes, Chair of the Affordable
Housing Committee.
Mr. Sparkes had interesting comments pertaining to appendices and reworking the Executive
Summary. A lot of that Public Comment was emphasizing water and affordable housing
alongside market rate.
Ms. Waygan stated the second workshop was held last evening on 6/3. Big picture comments
already appear in the plan, some comments can easily be added, and the late additions can be
added to the 5-year plan. It would be interesting to conduct a survey that focuses specifically
on people who are not homeowners. There was thoughtful, intelligent, and comprehensive
conversation that we would like to continue, and align these incentives with the Tribe. Ms.
Waygan explained David Weeden's ideas around Tribal citizen preference as part of
reparations. This will require time with the state's housing office.
The Public Comment Period is Open until June 6n
Comments can be submitted to: It°:4 °.cqi nir eirit.i)maslh e sir na. ov or in public meeting.
3
