MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MEETING MINUTES
JULY 9, 2025
Mr. Charles Kenny the owner of Unit E who spoke in opposition.
Mr. Alferie owns two units on Nicoletta's Way and has the same concerns.
Mr. Mike Travers owns a pest control business and has the same concerns with
noise that would disrupt his employees from conducting phone business.
Attorney Kirrane addressed the concerns of the abutters and mentioned that
property values are not zoning concerns. His client is willing to install a noise
reduction system; the area is industrial and is an allowed use under the bylaw.
There will be a specific number of dogs, with a secured fenced area. His client
is willing to work with the surrounding business owners.
Mr. Morris does not have a single issue with this proposal.
Mr. Bonvie asked for Board comments.
Mr. Furbush is concerned with the dogs being outside and could be a disruptive
to the neighboring businesses.
Mr. Reidy believes that the noise could be manageable. He doesn't think that
twelve dogs will be outside at the same time. He said that the Building
Commissioner could inspect the sound proofing and confirm it is acceptable,
and the animal control officer could investigate any noise issues. Mr. Reidy is
in favor of the business.
Mr. Blaisdell is in favor of the business. Mr. Ganzenmuller is also in favor.
Ms. Sangeleer has mixed feelings about the business and is concerned about
the potential noise issues.
Mr. Bonvie asked Attorney Kirrane how his client can address the issues and
concerns of the business owners.
Attorney Kirrane consulted with his client and agreed to withdraw the
application.
Mr. Bonvie said he was not sure this was the best area for the business and he
is willing to help Ms. Toni find a suitable location.
Mr. Bonvie asked for a motion to accept the applicant's withdrawal without
prejudice. Mr. Reidy so moved and accepted the withdrawal. Mr. Blaisdell,
second. All were in favor.
