<br />FINCOM-Regular Session <br />December 11,2025 <br /> <br />Collins encouraged Finance Committee members to attend meetings, provided there is no <br />quorum. <br />Collins also noted that union contract negotiations are ongoing. No contracts have been <br />ratified to date; once finalized, contracts will be submitted to Town Meeting for funding, <br />subject to ratification by the Select Board. <br />3.Review and approve Finance Committee meeting schedule for January to <br />June 2026 <br />The Committee discussed the Finance Committee meeting schedule for January through <br />June 2026, including the timing of meetings required to complete the Finance Committee <br />Report for Town Meeting and alignment with warrant article approvals by the Select Board. <br />Members discussed televising additional meetings to promote transparency and allow the <br />community to observe Finance Committee deliberations. It was suggested that meetings in <br />February, including February 12, be considered for broadcast, and that requests be <br />submitted in advance. <br /> <br />Motion made by Greg McKelvey to approve Finance Committee meeting schedule for <br />January to June 2026. <br /> <br />Motion seconded by Darlene Furbush. <br />Motion passed 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Jeffrey Pettengill, yes; Greg McKelvey, yes; Richard Weiner, yes; Keith Machado, <br />yes; Darlene Furbush, yes. <br />4.Discuss departmental budget meetings <br />The Finance Committee discussed departmental budget meetings and which meetings <br />they plan to attend. Members reported recent and upcoming attendance. <br />ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br />(This space is reserved for topics the Chair did not reasonably anticipate would be <br />discussed) <br />Richard Weiner raised a question regarding the Town’s debt limits. Weiner summarized <br />information received from the Town Treasurer’s O?ice, noting that the Town may borrow up <br />to 5% of its assessed value. Based on an assessed value of approximately $9 billion in <br />FY2024, the Town’s borrowing capacity was about $460 million. With assessed values <br />increasing to approximately $10 billion in FY2025, the borrowing limit is now closer to $500 <br />million. <br /> <br /> <br />
