Town
Manager Rodney Collins explained that “pride” referred to a candidate’s commitment to the
department, the community, and representing the Town with dignity, while “motivation”
referred to work ethic and initiative—qualities that reflect a proactive approach to policing.
He added that the oral board process is conducted by experienced command sta? who
assess these attributes carefully to ensure that the Town selects individuals dedicated to
long-term public service careers.

Selectman Weeden noted that background checks would reveal any prior infractions and
expressed general support for the process. Collins reviewed the full selection process.
Collins commented that while Massachusetts does not currently require a pre-employment
polygraph, he personally believes such a measure could be beneficial. Selectman Weeden
remarked that it was positive to see that both candidates were local residents.

Motion made by Selectman Weeden to approve the Entry-Level Police O?icers-Dylan
Hutchenrider and Evan Eisenhour.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton.
Vote: 5-0 Unanimous
Roll Call Vote
Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo-yes
Selectman Weeden-yes
5
