Select Board
December 8,2025
Minutes

Selectman Cotton stated that, compared to conditions four years ago, the proposal
represents a significant improvement. He expressed interest in shortening the central island,
raised questions about left-turn movements towards the rotary, and asked how the flashing
beacon system would function, noting that it requires pedestrians to activate the lights. He
stated that with flashing beacons installed at all crossings, he would be more comfortable
with the design. He also expressed support for the improved access to the country store but
noted concerns about vehicles exiting.

Selectman Weeden raised concerns related to the project’s location within a historic district
and asked whether the Historical Commission has reviewed the proposal. He stated that he would like to hear input from abutters before committing to
the project.

Chair Wyman-Colombo asked whether the design could incorporate additional
considerations, including pedestrian access for nearby residents, clearer depiction of
flashing beacon locations, and potential relocation of certain access points, including the
egress near the three green trees, further away from the intersection. She also requested
that the tra?ic study be provided to the Board and shared with the Historical Commission.
Laurent responded that the design seeks to optimize sight distance for vehicles exiting
properties, particularly southbound on Route 130.

Selectman Weeden raised a specific concern regarding Janet Hendricks’ of 389 Main ST
egress, noting that the proposal may impact an existing easement. Laurent responded that
13
