of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
c
16 Great Neck Road North
.wlashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
lane to make that turn to exit. A 53ft. trailer with icy conditions will have some difficulty. Lastly,
when trucks are coming from off Cape to deliver, why can't they take that right turn in off Rt.
28? He is against where the entrance is off of Shellback Way.
Mr. Bogosian would be happy to talk to their engineer about the retaining wall grading, they will
be discussing updates at the next meeting. He can provide a detailed presentation with
alternatives or shifting and reasoning why, all comprehensive including CCC findings.
Ms. Waygan would like to keep Ms. Christy and Mr. Lucas from Tighe & Bond in the loop.
Ms. Faulkner stated that animation was premature. The Board's Traffic Engineer didn't view
that simulation before this evening. We see vastly different traffic realities, Bowman's showing
light traffic in peak summer. On page 20, the crash data is old, there is nothing for 2022-2025,
and there are places to obtain this information. Traffic has increased since 2022.
Ms. Sullivan answered they access data from the Police Departments and crash reports, then
compare it to data for consistency with MassDOT and changes in patterns. They observed
consistency between the two.
Mr. Tobin commented that the Traffic Engineer from Tighe & Bond noted in the peer review
that data needed to be brought forward from 2022, and the four-year gap from then would be
reviewing police reports for any accidents. Any correspondence with the Police Department
would be obtained as a Public Record's request and shared. Crash reports need to be
collected. Mr. Lucas agreed. We know traffic patterns have changed, it may prove to be
similar, and will likely prove that, but those trends outside of MassDOT and 2022 need to be
captured. A Public Records request for Police Reports can be made.
Ms. Faulkner went back to page 20, the TIS. There are 13 locations listed, of those, 8 have
high crash areas, and 5 do not. This tells us there are more high crash areas than not. Would it
be fair to say, design changes can significantly impact traffic, or not at all?
Ms. Sullivan answered that the mitigation changes will positively impact crash rates based on
crash trends. Coming from the Mashpee rotary, all these intersections are on the right side,
going towards Falmouth.
Ms. Faulkner continued down towards the rotary, as if driving towards Falmouth, Bank St. turn,
Steeple St. turn with no signal, Jobs Fishing Road has a signal, followed by the proposed right
in right out curb cut, then Shellback Way with a signalized intersection and traffic going every
which way and traffic at Charles St. lining up. Does the Bowman design increase turning
movement without protection?
8
