of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
c
16 Great Neck Road NOYth
.wlashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
Ms. Sullivan explained that in the past they consider how the new stop plays into their existing
route, for example, will they need to turn around? They will coordinate with CCRTA as to what
makes the most sense overall with fitting into the existing route. Mr. Bogosian stated he would
accept a condition to come back to confirm, it may take longer to acquire approvals and
findings, but he is committed to making it work.
Mr. Milbury asked about the curb cut from Rt. 28 and the bus stop. It was answered that
ultimately, the Commission's feedback was to leave it, they felt it best to have the bus stop be
on the property out of the way of traffic and allowing various walkways for access.
Mr. Oakley would like to see the stop closer to the right turn and closer to the front of the store.
The bus can pull in and loop around and pull our Shellback Way.
Mr. Bogosian will look into that, some locations do have drainage. He will look at the site plan
for alternative bus stops that make more sense from a traffic perspective. There are often
reasons for things being where they are.
Mr. Tobin likes the idea of alternatives. The Deputy Police Chief agrees, a bus stop on Rt. 28,
from a safety point of view and monitoring those shelters, it would make more sense.
Ms. Waygan moved to comment 25, site engineer coordination with the site engineer.
Mr. Tobin stated the original Swept Path Analysis was for a delivery truck, since then we have
confirmation that a ladder truck would be accommodated.
Ms. Waygan stated comment 26, a minimum of 24ft. to the drive aisle, wherever two-way
traffic is allowed. This was flagged in the initial site plans, as the right in, right out driveway and
aisle feeding into the parking area was 20ft. wide. The site plan has been revised to now show
24ft. Cape and Islands Engineering noted one piece of the northeast corner still measuring
20ft, and that is acceptable to the Board.
Ms. Waygan discussed comment 28, Shell back Way today is wider closer to Rt. 28 due to two
lanes approaching, then it narrows towards the loading dock and area of this proposed
driveway. Through the new intersection, that road should be wider to safely accommodate
traffic turning in and out. Wider roads were showed in the plans.
Mr. Balzarini commented that those two lots were supposed to share one driveway, one to the
bank and one to this store. He was also hoping this road would continue out to Jobs Fishing
Road, alleviating travel on Rt. 28 to get to the bank or hardware store. What is proposed now
is a steep driveway with a bus stop on a steep hill. In the winter, if a car slips, what if people
are in the bus shelter? Barriers will need to be in place. A trailer will have to go into the other
7
