She shops at all local stores, in Hyannis or <br /> Falmouth, Roche Bros., and Stop & Shop, she has never had an issue with a grocery store <br /> delivery truck. has never been an issue. They are the experts to listen to. <br /> Elizabeth Dawes-She owns the yarn shop on the upper level of Deer Crossing. The animated <br /> simulation did not show any traffic coming in or out of the upper parking lot. Did you not <br /> consider those who are already in the neighborhood doing their best to keep their small <br /> business alive? Will there be another hearing where we can talk about the impacts of a <br /> national chain on local small businesses? <br /> Joel Zigger- He has been a Mahpee resident for 40 years and appreciates the Planning Board <br /> doing theirjob in managing growth in town. He thinks the developer has done everything he <br /> can to provide their traffic study and hired their own engineers, these guys have licenses, and <br /> the job they have done is adequate. He is familiar with Trader Joes. He is in favor of how they <br /> treat their employees. He appreciates the developer's willingness to come back and look at <br /> alternatives. He is in favor of this project and is opposed to spending more money for a further <br /> study. The Cape Cod Commission review is torturous, and if they approved it, that says a lot. <br /> Brett Mitchell- He lives on Shellback Way and is opposed to this location for Trader Joes. He <br /> cannot get out of his mind the added value of this Trader Joes at this location. For that curb <br /> cut, only one car can be parked there, which will stop cars on Rt. 28 in the 40mph zone. DOT <br /> was not allowing the curb cut onto their bike path, how has that changed? If it hasn't, you can't <br /> even ponder Shellback Way being the only entryway. He has safety concerns for people <br /> exiting. They own that road; they pay dues to replace that road. There are no sidewalks with <br /> 160 units in an active community. The Deer Crossing shops have been given permission to <br /> use that road. Now we have to worry about these strange vehicles coming through the private <br /> complex community because they exited wrong onto Shellback Way. Can you imagine 7 days <br /> a week, strangers randomly pulling in and out of your driveway? The loading dock is not deep <br /> enough at Ace Hardware. The 18 wheelers were backing up and half the 18-wheeler is in <br /> Shellback, making one lane of travel. There is much more traffic. Once people realize they can <br /> come from Falmouth and turn into Deer Crossing to avoid the light. Pedestrians will be at risk. <br /> The Board is trusted to make the best decision, it may not be the most popular, but we trust <br /> you. What else could be there? He noted a Monday through Friday office setting would be <br /> ideal. <br /> Annie Tabor— She took pictures on January 7t" and 8t" on traffic on simple weekdays. It <br /> shows traffic backed up past Shellback Way all the way to the rotary, as it was almost every <br /> day that week. This is not even high season.
