<br />Freshwater Ponds Committee <br />January 20,206 <br /> <br />February meeting. Ashley Fisher will reserve a table, and Sue Dangel will coordinate <br />collaboration details. <br /> Ashumet Pond Updates <br />The committee reported that they are still awaiting the Ashumet Pond report. The report is <br />needed to finalize the permit for alum sulfate treatment. The report had been expected in <br />January. Diana Phillips and Linda Farricy will follow up directly, and Sue Dangel will send a <br />letter on behalf of the Ponds Committee requesting an update. <br /> Mashpee-Wakeby Pond Updates <br />Phase 1 permitting and dosing for Mashpee-Wakeby Pond has been awarded to SMASS, <br />and contracts have been signed. Additional work will begin once weather conditions <br />improve. <br /> Santuit Pond Updates <br />It was reported that there will be invasive species treatment down at Santuit Pond. Due to <br />evidence that the infestation has spread beyond the northern section, an additional <br />assessment is recommended. <br />At the town landing, work is currently on hold due to frozen ground conditions. Significant <br />progress has been made.Coordination with the wastewater project is ongoing to ensure <br />sewer main work proceeds efficiently and the overall project is completed without <br />interruption. <br /> Update from Asst. Conservation Agent, Dan Kent <br />Dan Kent reported that in 2027 the herring cage at Mashpee-Wakeby is planned to be <br />retrofitted with a 24/7 fish camera providing a top-down view.
