Why isn't all mitigation going to the Shellback Way intersection? <br /> A. Ms. Sullivan answered this was a requirement from the Cape Cod Commission, any location <br /> within the study area to have a high crash rate required mitigation efforts. <br /> Q. When taking a right upon leaving, and that right lane drops shortly after, there is a curb right <br /> there where the lane ends. The left lane gets the right away and that curb is dangerous. What <br /> could we do to make that area safer? <br /> A. Ms. Sullivan will look at this. Further, Ms. Waygan stated she would love if members of the <br /> team could just drive around that intersection and go straight, and one will see that lane drop. <br /> Tighe & Bond will look at that too. <br /> John Miller- Submitted a five-page correspondence, noting the Cape Cod Commission's <br /> approval, the DRI with 14 conditions, and how the Commission found one exceeding aspect <br /> detrimental to the area: traffic. He recommended consideration of traffic not just off Shellback <br /> Way, and for the Board to encourage the Town of Mashpee to conduct an independent <br /> comprehensive traffic study and testify to traffic conditions on Shellback Way. This road serves <br /> 166 condos with a single entrance and exit to Rt. 28, there is a lower and upper level of Deer <br /> Crossing shops. He states this project site is not an appropriate location for this project. <br /> Several unresolved matters remain, such as safety, noise, lighting, signage, bike path & <br /> pedestrian safety, deliveries, and Shellback Way maintenance. John Miller also submitted <br /> photos of typical Ace Hardware deliveries, showing the tractor trailer. (Dated: November 6, <br /> 2025) <br /> A letter to the Mashpee Enterprise submitted by John Miller: He wrote concentrating concerns <br /> on traffic, and when the Commission reviewed the project, it cited traffic as its sole detriment. <br /> He reminded of the 119 new apartments and proposed Jobs Fishing Road apartments and the <br /> additional 11 buildings, as well as Chipotle, and he would like to see those numbers properly <br /> reflected in the traffic study. <br /> Jeannie Fay with Waterside Group sent correspondence regarding the Ace Hardware Loading <br /> Docks, noting their loading dock was abandoned and is being used for storage.
