She is
opposed to the right in and out. She submitted photos.
Lynne Barbee- She noted the lane drop on Rt. 28 at the right turn out of the project be looked
at. She suggests Trader Joes make nice with Deer Crossing to create some signage at both
entrance ways to avoid people driving into their neighborhood.
Toby Richard- Falmouth resident in support.
Eric Clapper- Mashpee resident in support.
Jeanne Clapper- Mashpee resident in support.
Diane Long- Shellback resident in opposition of the project. The traffic is horrible, and that area
by Ace Hardware is busy, a photo was submitted of someone parked on Shellback Way. She
enjoys driving to Hyannis and doesn't see that as a problem.
Pamela Wood- Resident of Deer Crossing, noted traffic as a major concern. She is opposed,
as minor traffic jams occur daily. If something this large gets added, there will be more
accidents, which will lead to backups at the rotary, which already is backed up at 5:OOPM. This
traffic study was unrealistic. The impact of Chipotle traffic was not adequately addressed.
There will be increased noise and disruption from delivery trucks.
Anne Malone- She is in opposition of the project; the Board needs to add the impacts of Jobs
Fishing Road and how that will flow to an already traffic stand still. Regardless of the
Commission's approval, it doesn't mean the Planning Board needs to approve.
Kathleen Emanation- She has business off Shellback Way, and her clients consistently
complain about this road and especially the snow, it makes the road conditions worse.
Claire Sullivan- Mashpee resident in support of the project.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Joe Stout- He is a part time Mashpee resident for 17 years. He lives on Shellback Way. He
and his wife submitted written comment, but he was told by the Town Planner to come speak
here. He is the Harrison, NY Planning Board Chair. He appreciates all that is being done.
There are always reasons to do things and to not do things. He appreciates the considerations
to traffic impacts, most of which will be on those of Deer Crossing. Units A and B have to deal
with what happens from an environmental standpoint. Every traffic analysis shows no impact.
Yet, when you stand there at any time of day there is impact. We should be able to put up a
camera to see in real time. This could be an augmented addition to the traffic study. That is the
sole way in and out of Deer Crossing, at times it is difficult, but forget about if there was ever a
problem. He appreciates the developer and he has been very responsive. He is happy to see
they are looking at comparable numbers.
16
