of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
c
16 Great Neck Road North
.wlashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
Ms. Waygan stated there are two entranceways at the Picnic Box and Smitty's. The first exit
before the Picnic Box is dangerously steep to exit, they are failed with crumbling asphalt. To
just mark those in and out would cause more of a traffic hazard.
Mr. Bogosian stated they are working with the Cape Cod Commission, MassDOT, and this
Board. The Commission had them put on everything they could, but the applicant is amenable
with doing what makes sense. Ms. Waygan would like some public input.
Mr. Tobin asked if the $250,000 in additional work included this, in terms of signs and striping
all over town. How much is dedicated to the rotary? He appreciates the role the Commission
plays in looking at things from a regional perspective and appreciates that they are aiming to
manage traffic that may be coming from all over town to the site. This particular project in this
particular location warrants putting all of the mitigation efforts in that area. He is concerned that
anything further is waste of the applicant's money.
Mr. Bogosian doesn't want to misspeak about the allocation of money; he will get those
numbers.
Ms. Faulkner asked what happened with the bike path in the MassDOT Rotary Study. All of this
is serious visual clutter.
Ms. Waygan provided history of the DOT Rotary Study.
Mr. Tobin stated he believes it has been in the design phase for about a decade, but all of this
doesn't really concern the applicant, as a lot of these should be eliminated if they are going to
be problematic.
Mr. Bogosian stated he is open to local input in eliminating anything problematic.
Ms. Waygan asked about relative costs.
Ms. Sullivan stated signage and striping are lower cost items. Signal and equipment are larger
cost items.
11
