of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
c
16 Great Neck Road North
.wlashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
Donnas Lane: Advanced warning and lane designation signage currently missing. Looking at
clearance interval improvements. Signal operates in coordination with Shellback Way; they
communicate with each other to help traffic flow along the main corridor of Route 28.
It was explained that clearance intervals are timing of signals. Green time is reallocated to help
with operational improvements, then yellow and red are timed appropriately.
Mr. Milbury commented on Jobs Fishing Road having three lanes, one to turn right on Rt. 28,
one left, and the middle lane is straight.
Ms. Sullivan will look into the right or left lane turns. Through lanes were added based on
volume.
Mr. Hansen submitted comments from Vision 0. His suggestion for Donna's Lane would be at
the beginning to have a white solid line extending up to Walgreens and the right side has to go
into Walgreens, and the left goes straight up to Roche Bros, and possibly add striping on
Donnas Lane side.
Ms. Sullivan added merge signage there with pavement markings.
Mr. Tobin stated everyone on the Board is making valid comments on intersections, but
mitigation efforts should be focused on the more immediate surrounding area. It's diffusing
things too much to require the applicant to go all over Town. We need to focus on where we
have the most impact from the project.
Mr. Kirrane commented that Jobs Fishing Rd. will be a problem regardless of whether the
project comes or not. Mr. Tobin stated a 40B is going in there.
Shellback Way: Additional signage and pavement markings. Like Jobs Fishing in terms of
signal and timing improvements, signal timings with reallocating green time for traffic demands
will offset impacts and improve operations. Further, red and yellow clearance intervals, in
addition to green time, will help prioritize movement along Route 28. Improvements at the
crosswalks were made and equipment improvements for pedestrians, such as push buttons
being brought to current standards. A flashing yellow arrow for the turn lane doesn't change
operations, its safety, bringing up to current MassDOT.
12
