of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
16 Great Neck Road NOYth
wlashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
Mr. Balzarini asked what signage will be used on the right turn on Rt. 28?
Ms. Sullivan stated the Trader Joes sign would be there with no change to lane usage on
Route 28.
Ms. Waygan commented page C-106 shows an advance turn sign to let people know.
Charles St.: Add lettering, make arrow up to current compliance.
Mr. Tobin asked about safety issues with the right turn in and right turn out from the site,
relating to backing up in the left lane for people turning left onto Charles St. His concern is you
typically see 4-5 cars backing up in the left lane heading to Falmouth from the rotary, making
the left hand turn onto Charles St. People tend to cross lanes from left to right, close to where
the parcel is and close to that right turn in/out curb cut. His concern is someone switching
lanes, then someone ahead brakes to turn right, and results in a crash.
Ms. Sullivan responded they did look at queuing there, relative to the right in/out only. Anyone
making a right turn out would continue in the right lane.
Mr. Tobin restated concern about drivers switching into the right lane on Route 28 from the left
lane, where cars will be coming in and out of the site, especially if an 18-wheeler is entering
there.
Mr. Bogosian stated to mitigate this they made more of an on ramp style turn, which leaves no
debating for a right turn, and it will be widened so it is very visible when people are going in
and out.
Mr. Milbury suggested no left turn onto Charles St. to alleviate the traffic jam.
Mr. Tobin added he was referring to a possible lane add for a left turn only lane onto Charles
St. from Route 28.
Mr. Mil bury said it would be more cost-effective to just block a left turn onto Charles St. from
Route 28, and the entrance into South Cape from Route 28 would be Donna's Lane only.
13
