of TMs s,s
z.
AU1MLIUVy
own qf MaS 2 Panning Board
c
16 Great Neck, RoadNorth
.wLashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Commission stated the numbers didn't make sense but they voted in favor. They said
Mashpee would have to figure out its own traffic issues. Those who know Shellback Way know
its steep slope in Deer Crossing and Rockland Trust, there is a current traffic problem in the
summer when everyone is going to Ace Hardware for mulch. He wouldn't present a study that
disagreed with him. There is a steep hill behind Unit A and Unit B, he doesn't know how they
will safely build, there will need to be a retaining wall. He is not opposed to a new market or
Trader Joes, he just doesn't want traffic jams on site.
Sue Weiss- She is a resident and wants to thank the Chair and continue the delivery
conversation. There was no mention of hours this time, but there was a mention of hours the
first time through the traffic mitigation memo of 2022. Objective 1 noted between 4:OOAM-
9:OOAM and 9:OOPM-11:30PM, and possibly other times throughout the day. She would like
more information on that as there is a new noise bylaw. When a truck is in reverse it has those
signals that sound loudly. There is a proposed bus stop and shelter, which will add traffic from
the access road into Trader Joes. Exhibit 17 on page 1 of the 2025 Falmouth Market staff
report says the project is coordinating with Cape Cod RTA to install a bus stop and shelter on
site. How will they handle the sound pollution from the 100ft. loading dock? On page 5, the
ramp is parallel to Shellback Way. She loves Trader Joes.
Theo Collins- He noted this is a marine water recharge area for the Poppy Bay, which is
impaired by nitrogen according to latest documents. He has questions about the nitrogen
contribution of the project. He remembers hearing a nitrogen loading offset to be paid, he
wants to know more about that process and who those payments go to? He noted the traffic
being a problem and wants to be on record saying the more projects we have create more
parking issues and access issues. The consensus is as we build up we are making this area
more non-pedestrian friendly. If you want to get around on Rt. 28 there is one road with a
sidewalk, and it is really hard to navigate. The choices we make now and the more we develop
in this way, the less we are thinking about walking access.
Ms. Wagan would like to reach out to the Town Manager's Office to inquire how nitrogen
offsets are used. She knows there is a vote by the Select Board, but she would like to confirm
how those mitigation funds are tracked and used.
Ms. Waygan would also like a slide detailing walkability, access to site, bus stop and bicycle
access, sidewalks, ADA sidewalks, and all enhancements.
Briana Letendre- She is a single mom with a young son, she understands certain aspects, but
we need to see the bigger whole future. She has worked for property management and these
same issues come up. We all benefit from this facility being in Mashpee, as items are checked
off and the developer gives us more details, we have to think about our children. Her son is not
8
