of TMs s,s
z.
AU1MLIUVy
own qf MaS 2 Panning Board
c
16 Great Neck, RoadNorth
-11ashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Mr. Kirrane commented the trash area is fully enclosed with rodent proofing, and biweekly or
monthly pest control. Excess food will be donated to local nonprofits and farmers for
composting.
Ms. Waygan would like that written as a condition and she would like the Town Planner to
provide them with the most recent version of the stormwater management plan.
Mr. Tobin added with today's climate the food donations are noble.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Susanne Laundry-She has been a longtime customer of Trader Joe's starting with store
number one in CA. She does believe this to be a misfit for the location at this time. She has
three questions: Can a delivery truck make that turn into the entrance? What is the square
footage allocated for the selling floor and beverage and eating area? What percentage of
customers will be coming from Falmouth, Marstons Mills, Cotuit, and Mashpee? That has an
impact to her, as approximately 50% of traffic will be turning on Shellback Way, she is not sure
that road is designed for that type of traffic. They heard tonight all deliveries will be coming into
Shellback Way. She noted the delivery trucks parking in the road for Ace Hardware now.
Ms. Waygan asked that next time someone see the delivery truck at Ace, to take a photo and
send it to the Town Planner.
Mr. Tobin reminded the many abutters here this evening, and especially those who were
participating in the hearings at the Commission, this is an entirely new hearing with a new
record. If anyone has anything for this Board that was submitted to the Cape Cod Commission,
it will need to be resubmitted.
Mr. Bogosian stated their design for all loading was well thought out and accomplishes the
goal of turning in and out for trucks. More details will be provided to show all that, also the food
and beverage section will be a small part of the store. In addition, Mr. Dibb will provide turning
radius across all areas.
Mr. Tobin added they will have the swept path analysis.
David Gill- He noted there was a great deal of testimony at the Cape Cod Commission for
traffic and safety, and ultimately the Commission decided to go forward regionally. If you listen
to the hearings and the members, it's like they had their own conclusion, they determined the
impact on the region was more important. The traffic study was also paid for by the developer,
they used Bowman. In the final hearing it was evident the state worked closely with Bowman,
and this independent commission that helps set rules, is determining rules for developing the
plan for the developer. The traffic study projected increase cars onto Shellback Way, even the
7
