<br />Select Board <br />April 27,2026 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />Acceptance of Resignation from the Conservation Commission, E?ective Immediately – <br />Sarah Thornbrugh 41 Coombs Lane <br />The Board reviewed the resignation of Sarah Thornbrugh from the Conservation <br />Commission, e?ective immediately. Thornbrugh’s formal resignation letter was read into <br />the record. <br />Motion made by Selectman Weeden to accept the resignation of Sarah Thornbrugh <br />with a letter of regret and appreciation. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br />During Board discussion, Selectman Weeden stated that Thornbrugh raised important <br />issues and noted that Conservation Commission meetings can be lengthy, challenging, <br />and, at times, contentious due to the nature of the work and regulatory responsibilities <br />involved. <br />Selectman Weeden stated that environmental issues are compounded by broader natural <br />and climate-related challenges and expressed appreciation for the passion and knowledge <br />Thornbrugh brought to the Commission. He added that the Town would be losing a highly <br />qualified individual through her resignation. <br />Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson expressed appreciation for the transparency and willingness of <br />individuals to share their experiences while serving on boards and committees. She <br />questioned whether there may be broader concerns regarding board dynamics and conflict <br />resolution processes and asked whether additional support, procedures, or checks and <br />balances could be implemented to better support volunteers serving on Town boards. <br />Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson stated that losing qualified volunteers represents a loss for the <br />Town and suggested exploring additional ways to encourage and retain participation. <br />Town Manager Rodney Collins agreed that the resignation of a qualified and experienced <br />member represented a substantial loss for the Town.
