Keep that in mind. <br /> Mr. Balzarini stated he remembers Tom Fudalla looking into the old Waggs Road, and Deer <br /> Crossing didn't want to pay and the owner didn't want to pay. It's a dead question that keeps <br /> being asked. <br /> Jeannie Fay said if there is no curb cut there is no project. They are 90% through that process <br /> and are waiting on the last pieces with MassDOT. <br /> Nancy Sullivan — She is a resident of Deer Crossing condo's but has been coming to the <br /> Cape to vacation for over 25 years. She mentioned traffic at the bridges to come onto Cape. <br /> When she bought her house, she knew she wanted to be in Mashpee. She just moved here in <br /> September. Currently she is in support of the project and is a huge Trader Joes fan. She would <br /> rather sit in an extra 2 minutes of traffic here than drive a half hour to go to Hyannis. She thinks <br /> there are benefits to being close by. People today are so impatient on the road. Why are we so <br /> focused on the what ifs, let's give credit to drivers and this data. She sees people shifting in <br /> and out of lanes all the time. She is retired, but in her field, she was the expert. In listening to <br /> all the great conversation tonight, she has learned to defer to experts. There are a lot here on <br /> this Board, and the Board engineers. She would love to have Trader Joes, but she is also <br /> deferring to expertise. <br /> Brett Mitchell- He is a Shellback way resident and has been through all these meetings, and it <br /> always comes to traffic and safety. For that, he is highly opposed to this project. Do we really <br /> need a fourth grocery store in a half mile radius? How is this a value add? There are bikers, <br /> walkers, drivers, and a curb cut proposed. He drives down this road; you are going to have <br /> people swerving at high rates of speed. People from Falmouth will be cutting through Deer <br /> Crossing and cutting through Ace Hardware. One last point, Trader Joes said this is a 20-year <br /> commitment. He appreciates the time, but he is definitely against this project. <br /> SUBMITTED WRITTEN PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Ms. Waygan read comments submitted in writing to the Planning Department into the record. <br /> Betsy Pratt- She notes it has been 3 years since this specialty store proposal was introduced. <br /> She attended three hearings to support. The Planning Board continues to delay, perhaps so <br /> the developer will walk away. This has already been reviewed by the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> The developer has done all that is asked, why do we continue to delay this moving forward? <br /> Right now she travels to Trader Joes in Hyannis, which means she is spending her money in <br /> 28 <br />
