IMP. IMBO
d"fr,,{ynr,fw VhP.
w Mashpee lncCusion and'Diversity Committee
16 Great Neck Road -Vort(-
MasGtpee, M-A 02649
have a chance to meet with the Superintendent to discuss how pivotal Mashpee is to that
greater Human Rights Club as well.
We are in the middle of a transition, still trying to find our way back to a cohesive relationship
within the schools. We lost a key Advisor to the Human Rights Club, with many other staff
changes, but it is important that we maintain that relationship. She would like someone who is
comfortable with going into the schools to help foster that.
The Chair brought up the Who We Are legacy project and the idea to keep it going within the
school and having the Human Rights Club maintain that.
Friendship Festival on Race Amity Day
Mr. Kupferman stated the subcommittee is meeting every two weeks, and they could use more
help and participation. Commitment doesn't have to be every meeting, but the more feedback
and input is welcome.
This year will host two main speakers, Dr. Seyana Mawusi, a great speaker and local human
rights advocate, mentor, and educator. Rodney Collins is the second speaker. There will be
musical performances that have enjoyed the event previously and look forward to coming back
every year. Family Table Collaborative is working with the subcommittee to provide
international and multicultural food at no charge.
Ms. Wilson asked what else is needed at this time.
Mr. Kupferman noted other sets of eyes, when the event is here, there is a lot to keep track of
with everything moving. Secondly, he needs help with marketing.
Ms. Wilson stated she can help with the marketing piece, but she is unable to attend the
meeting and will touch base at a later date.
Alternate Membership for Tribal Representative
Mr. Klein mentioned Ms. Peters attendance at the last meeting.
Ms. Stevenson stated as of right now she is the Tribal Representative. The Chair emailed
Rodney Collins and Wayne Taylor to discuss the ability to assign an alternative member.
4
