She would like to interact with them <br />through joint meetings, or meetings in between regular meetings. They have purse strings and <br />are chartered for this. Our Mission Statement should be very simple, very understandable, not <br />only to this Committee, but for all the public to know what the overarching mission is. Then, we <br />get into specific goals. The consultant made it clear, the Trust has purse strings, and we need <br />people to know that. <br /> <br />Mr. Putterman asked if someone from the AHC is on the Trust. <br /> <br />Mr. Sparkes answered this Committee voted to have himself be that person. They have the <br />money, and we have the policies to figure out what the projects will be, using that money. They <br />get most of their money from the CPC. In November, he petitioned for $500,000 from the CPC. <br />At the time we had $770,000 in the Trust. Adding the $500,000 awarded by the CPC, we now <br />have $1.2Million. <br /> <br />Ms. Muller added that Falmouth has a committee that pursues funding and donations, could <br />we form a separate committee that could accommodate workforce? <br /> <br />Mr. Sparkes said ultimately, we are trying to do all those things, among the job of this <br />Committee, the Trust is to listen to what we bring to them, and they then support us with the <br />money. He continued about choosing what best suits the needs. One page has the draft <br />guidelines with a joint mission. Option B is the Mission Statement that this Committee comes <br />up with. <br /> <br />Mr. Tutor commented the goals and mission statement are both fine, but he is not ready to say <br />one way or the other just yet. He would still like to hear more about pros and cons of this <br />concept. Given the history here, this Committee was basically nonexistent a year and a half <br />ago, and aside from that, the Trust was only meeting once a year. He is skeptical about a joint <br />statement, it might be helpful, or it might be a bureaucratic waste of time. <br /> <br />Mr. Sparkes added the responsibilities exist, whether they get done or not. This encourages <br />the Trust to participate and accomplish the common goals, and further foster communication <br />and cooperation between the two, so he will support that. <br /> <br />Ms. Muller would like to have joint meetings, a mission on paper doesn’t hold weight. <br />11 <br /> <br /> <br />
