Proposed dredge plan. <br /> (Representative: Cape & Islands Engineering, Inc.) 43- <br /> 3129 <br /> The Commission considered a request for a three-year extension of an existing permit for a proposed dredging <br /> project at 80 Punkhorn Point Road. <br /> Conservation staff explained that the applicant had been unable to secure a contractor capable of performing <br /> the work. Staff noted that the project involves a private dredging operation intended to create a navigable <br /> channel from the applicant's existing dock to the channel within Popponesset Bay. Due to the shallow nature of <br /> the proposed dredging area, specialized equipment is required and the applicant has been unable to locate a <br /> contractor with the necessary equipment to complete the project. <br /> The Commission was advised that the current permit is scheduled to expire on August 30, 2026, and that the <br /> applicant had requested a three-year extension. <br /> 10 <br />
