Alexis Lanzillotta from Barrett Planning kicked off <br /> the series talking about Mashpee's positioning with the SHI, our HPP, and the AHC efforts. <br /> February hosted Rene Hammond from HOME Consortium and Erin Perry, Deputy Director with <br /> the Cape Cod Commission. In March, we heard from Cory Fellows from POAH and David <br /> Quinn from HAC. There are many components, both financial and engineering, that make a <br /> project work, and those two groups work together a lot. In April, Noreen Brown from Habitat for <br /> Humanity came to talk about their recent projects and are hopeful for future Mashpee projects. <br /> Lastly, we heard from Laura Shufelt with Mass Housing Partnership, who provided a nice wrap <br /> up of affordable housing at the state level. <br /> All handouts and PowerPoints are located on the Affordable Housing tab on the Town website. <br /> 2027 Membership in Barnstable Shared Regional Housing Resources Program <br /> This Committee voted last month for Mashpee to participate in the SRHR program next year. A <br /> CPC application forthe last three quarters was submitted and added to the Warrant for <br /> October Town Meeting. The Trust unanimously approved the funding for 25%. He attended <br /> their meeting to defend the application, and accept the application for Town Meeting, and they <br /> voted to accept the late application. The funds are available from the Trust and the CPC. <br /> There are bi-weekly meetings every other Tuesday. Someone from the Planning Department <br /> will attend. Mary Waygan is the representative for Yarmouth. We qualify for 30 consulting hours <br /> with a regional planner, Barrett Planning's Alexis Lanzillotta. We used her time this year to <br /> finish the HPP document, the presentation in January, and the Mission Statement. It's money <br /> well spent. <br /> The CPC inquired as to why we weren't seeking funds from the Trust. Mr. Sparkes noted if an <br /> opportunity came up, like a home or motel, and we have funds available, we are ultimately <br /> trying to beef up the funds in the Trust to progress properties, not use towards administrative <br /> efforts. <br /> This SRHR program is important for Mashpee since we don't have our own affordable staff <br /> person, a full-time or part-time staff designated to Affordable Housing efforts. We are a <br /> volunteer Committee that meets once a month, and we are not going to accomplish enough <br /> mechanics or follow-through and should be able to turn to someone for review. <br /> 5 <br />
