Staff noted that the building is designed to support both current wastewater <br /> operations and future phases of the Town's sewer expansion program. <br /> Discussion and Possible Vote on Order of Takinll for Sewer/Grinder Pump Easements <br /> for Mashpee Wakeby and Discussion and Possible Vote on Order of Takings of Sewer <br /> Easements in Private Ways for Mashpee Wakeby <br /> Staff explained that additional sewer grinder pump easements were identified during the ongoing <br /> design and construction phases of the Mashpee Wakeby sewer project. Several properties had <br /> been omitted from earlier easement plans due to their location near plan sheet boundaries and <br /> were not identified during the initial review process. As construction progressed, additional site- <br /> specific information, including septic system locations and other field conditions, became <br /> available and required modifications to certain service connection designs. As a result, some <br /> properties originally expected to receive gravity sewer connections may instead require grinder <br /> pump installations. The proposed order of taking was presented to secure the necessary <br /> easements and accommodate these design changes. <br /> MOTION: To approve,pursuant to M.G.L. c. 83, § 1,the Order of Taking by eminent <br /> domain of grinder pump easements on privately owned parcels of land and sewer <br /> easements in private and public ways associated with the Mashpee Wakeby sewer <br /> project, as more particularly identified in the Order of Taking prepared by Town <br /> Counsel and shown on plans recorded with the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds in <br /> Book 716, Pages 73-88; to authorize the Commissioners to execute the Order of Taking <br /> and any other documents necessary or appropriate to accomplish the foregoing; and to <br /> determine that no damages are due or awarded to any persons affected by the takings. <br /> Motion by: Meredith Harris Seconded by: Alfred Towle <br /> Vote: Motion passed by roll call vote: Meredith Harris—AYE; Alfred Towle— AYE; <br /> Joseph Lyons—AYE; Mohan Nair—AYE; Cody Erickson—AYE. <br /> Chair's Report <br /> No report. <br /> Wastewater Superintendent Report <br /> Wastewater Superintendent Jared Meader provided an update on ongoing wastewater <br /> construction activities and project coordination efforts. <br /> He reported that two recent construction-related incidents had resulted in Occupational Safety <br /> and Health Administration (OSHA) reviews. One incident involved a trench collapse during <br /> sewer construction in the Mashpee Neck area, and another involved contact with overhead power <br /> lines on a separate contract. No injuries occurred in either incident, and all requested information <br /> was provided to OSHA. No determinations were issued at the time of the meeting. <br /> An update was provided on traffic management and contractor coordination efforts associated <br /> with ongoing sewer construction. With work on Route 130 substantially complete, attention has <br /> shifted to South Sandwich Road and Cotuit Road. Coordination between contractors is ongoing <br /> to maintain traffic access while minimizing impacts to residents and businesses and avoiding <br />
