Children's Room The new desk will arrive June 8t" and will necessitate wiring. The free Summer Lunch Program will be held in the outdoor fenced-in area behind the Children's Program Room. A brief recap of the mini golf tournament from April school vacation produced good results and feedback was positive. Buildings & Grounds The DPW is repairing trim throughout the building as well as painting, with hopes of finishing in a couple weeks. The DPW is exploring options to replace the keypads for the door locking system. The Library Director is still waiting to order new computers which have been out of stock from the vendor. Also in the works are new self-checkout stations, and a new projector in the Event Room to be purchased. POLICY REVIEW Nothing at this time. FRIENDS UPDATE There is a Friends of the Mashpee Library meeting tomorrow, May 13tn TRUSTEE EDUCATION & OUTREACH Chair Geatrakas discussed the upcoming presentation at Southport on Monday, May18t" There was discussion of other possible events or locations for Trustee outreach: Chamber of Commerce events, Laurentide, the Mashpee Women's Club, Deer Crossing, the Wampanoag Tri be. The Library Director added that the Children's Librarian does outreach to the schools as well as having them come here for programming. Sending librarians out into the community and away from the library during the day requires adequate staffing to maintain regular operations at the building and do outreach events at the same time. Strategic Plan The Library Director sent examples of 5 or 6 libraries and their strategic plans. The examples provided all demonstrate four core statements or common themes. She will work on surveys for the collection with the staff, to see what the community wants or needs in terms of books, what format, large print, etc. Ever place a hold in multiple formats, one before the other cancel remaining?
